Celebrating North East Lincolnshire Through Photography: This Place We Share

Yesterday afternoon, I had the privilege of attending the launch of ‘This Place We Share’, a photography exhibition celebrating the people, places and spaces that make North East Lincolnshire such a special place.

What made the afternoon particularly exciting for me was seeing all three of my entries featured in the exhibition. As a photographer, there’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing your work displayed as part of a wider collection, especially when the exhibition is centred around an area you've grown up near and photographed.

‘This Place We Share’ brings together photographs that capture different aspects of life across North East Lincolnshire. From its landscapes and heritage to its communities and everyday spaces, the exhibition offers a visual snapshot of the places that make up the local area.

For me, photography has always been about more than simply taking a picture. It’s about capturing a sense of place, whether that’s a familiar landscape, an historic building, a moment in everyday life or a location that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Being able to contribute three photographs to an exhibition that celebrates exactly that is something I’m incredibly proud of.

The ‘This Place We Share’ exhibition is open to the public and will run until 3rd January 2027 at the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre.

Best of all, entry is completely FREE, making it a great opportunity to discover the work of local photographers and see North East Lincolnshire through a variety of different perspectives.
